How Sonic Tomography Works

Our system uses a non-invasive method called Sonic Velocity Analysis. By placing sensors around the trunk, we measure the speed of sound waves traveling through the wood.

Healthy Wood: Sound waves travel quickly.
Decay or Cavities: Sound waves slow down or divert.

This process creates a detailed 2D or 3D tomogram, a color-coded map of the trunk's interior, without ever harming the tree's protective bark or cambium.
